Tradewinds Calling

Hard blow the westerlies in never ending gales;

Hard blow the westerlies against the billowing sails

I long to see the sunset oer’ the ocean’s rim

and hear the wind and waves combine;

in a humble seaman’s hymm.

Hard blow the easterlies, across the coral seas

Hard blow the Easterlies, from Tahitian mysteries

I long to see the sunrise oer’ an island goal

And if my God does this sailor know,

then he may take my soul.

Hard blow the tradewinds across lagoons and palms

Hard blow the tradewinds like a choir singing psalms

I want to someday settle down on some Pacific isle,

and languish through a carefree life in true Tahitian style.
